Growing lasting solutions to hunger

First Congregational United Church of Christ is sponsoring a Growing Hope Globally growing project. This mission project began in 2006 and this is our fourteenth crop. This is how it works. A church member has donated 5 acres of farmland and will donate the labor and equipment to plant and grow a corn crop. The church will provide the money for seed, fertilizer, fuel, and other needs for planting the crop. When the crop is sold, the money realized will be sent to Growing Hope Globally to the country of our choice. This money will be used to buy supplies and provide instruction to create a sustainable food program in a country in the developing world. Through this program First Congregational UCC has helped people in Kenya, Bosnia, Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic, North Korea, Cambodia, Zambia, India, and West Africa.  to experience the dignity and pride of feeding themselves and their families. For more information about Growing Hope Globally, visit www.growinghopeglobally.org.

Every night 800,000,000 people go to bed hungry somewhere in the world. Today 25,000 people will die of hunger or hunger related causes. With our Growing Hope Globally growing project, WE ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE, one village at a time!
